Mosh - Monarchy

Monarchy. A very impressive Electro album that reminds me of Justice's Audio Video Disco. Did I mention it's free?

Shpongle - A New Way To Say 'Hooray!'

Something a little different. It's an electronic track with some audio snippets from my homeboy Terence Mckenna. It's a psychedelic epic with a slamming bassline and a flute solo. It's Shpongle.

The XX - Crystalised

Another great track from The XX, which gets a little more upbeat.

Tommy Trash - Truffle Pig

A dark, danceable progressive anthem with crunchy electro kicks.
Think gritty Deadmau5 with his own twist.

Kid Cudi - Just What I Am

Great production, driving bass, and big fuzzy synths and vocoders. A laid back hip-hop track.

Midnight Smack - Wisdom

This is a great big hip hop track with worldwide influences and samples.
There's a great little audio snippet about fear at the start too.

Father John Misty - Fear Fun (Album)

Father John Misty, or Josh Tillman, drummer from Fleet Foxes
brings an album he describes as "weird-ass songs about weird-ass experiences"

Some dude on amazon calls it "Drugged out hijinx, paranoia, humor, and the irony of schlepping to a sun-soaked southern setting where your artistic ambition and individuality make you just like everybody else."

I like the lyrics, the music and the themes. Cool vocal lines, interesting little quips, and ayahuasca.

You can see the great Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings
 video at the official site:

Here's a track played live

I'm Writing A Novel (Live On KEXP)

Full KEXP performance:

These live performances are different from the album, which is a nice change.

I noticed this youtube comment of the performance,
which I can only say is 100% accurate.

Johnny Knoxville on vocals, Frank Zappa on drums, Rivers Cuomo on guitar, and gay Kurt Cobain on bass. haha

SBTRKT - Wildfire

Some really clicky drums that grow on you, some groovy synth action,
and some absolutely wonderful vocals.

Shlohmo - Birthday Beat

Another cool future beats-y track.
The drums drag like a low sensitivity computer mouse.

XXYYXX - DMT

Futurebeats style track from XXYYXX. Hi-hats everywhere.
Haunting vocal samples. Nice flowing syncopated rhythm.

Great name for a song too...

Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues

If you like vocal harmonies, you should know about Fleet Foxes. Great guitar parts, full percussion tracks, they sound like american apple pies. Some great folk music from Fleet Foxes' 2011 album Helplessness Blues.

The Who - Magic Bus

One hundred. English pounds.
Great song performed Live at Leeds. Cool guitar intro.

The Who - Magic Bus

Marley Carroll - Woodwork

Woodwork. A well produced, unique track from Marley Carroll. Wood block samples hold the rhythm, and there's a cool tempo slow down bit.

Listen here:

Intuition & Equalibrium - Imagining

This is a rap song by Intuition, about dealing with his father's struggle with early onset alzheimers. Those feels.

Check out the video and the lyrics.

You can read about the backstory here:

The XX - Angels

I really like the simple approach The xx has. Couple of drums, reverb laden, spacey guitar, and some sweet vocals, with a nice warm bass underneath. The absence of too many instruments lets the subtleties shine through.
This is Angels, from the latest album Coexist.

Two Fingers - Keman Rhythm

After finding out that Amon Tobin had made some more Hip Hop-ish music under the name "Two Fingers", I gave it a listen. Great sound design, big electronic beats. I love the percussion and string instrument in this track.

I'd definitely recommend checking out all of Two Fingers' offerings,
especially if you're into electronic music.
